What we publish
Fish 4 News covers UK, international, political, business, sport and other stories of public interest. Our reporting aims to explain not only what has happened, but what is known, what is disputed, what remains uncertain and why the story matters.
News reporting and opinion are kept distinct. News should inform, verify and provide context. Opinion may argue a position, but it is clearly labelled and must remain grounded in facts.
Our approach
We aim to be direct, readable and transparent about the limits of what can be established. Where information changes, we update stories. Where we make a material error, we correct it.
We do not set out to tell readers which political party, campaign, company or individual they should support. We do ask questions, test claims and provide relevant context.
Images and illustrations
Fish 4 News uses photographs, screenshots, supplied material and illustrations depending on the story. Illustrative or generated imagery should not be presented as documentary evidence of an event that did not occur in the image itself. Captions or surrounding context should make the nature of an image clear where it could otherwise be misunderstood.
